Custom incline conveyor system in action, from mk North America

If you’re looking to take your material handling or production processes to the next level, odds are you’re going to need a good incline conveyor system before long.

Incline conveyors are used for many processes that take product from one elevation to another, from loading particulate matter into a steel hopper, moving second-floor stock to a staging area on the ground, or any one of a near-endless number of other applications. Like many useful tools, though, incline conveyors are highly specialized, and pose several unique engineering challenges. mk North America has a number of conveyors perfectly suited for incline applications, and can design conveyor systems to meet your specific needs.

If you’re in the market for a custom incline conveyor from, consider these variables to help determine which system will be right for you. Then get in touch with mk North America today to get help from our sales team.

Incline or Decline?

Will your conveyor system being moving materials up, down, or both? This will affect how powerful a drive motor is needed, in addition to what type of conveyor system is best and which kind of belt is best suited for your needs.

What’s Your Product?

Products with sharp edges or which risk exposing equipment to liquids or hazardous chemicals pose specific challenges, and will also affect what kind of belt is best for your application. It’s also crucial to know what total load capacity will be required.

What Compliance Standards are Required?

For pharmaceutical or food-related applications, a material capable of FDA-required washdown and sterilization is necessary.

mk North America can also create conveyor systems compliant with BISSC*, USDA, 3-A, and other regulation standards.

How Much Space Do You Have?

This is especially important for incline conveyors. The shorter the horizontal space, the steeper the incline angle is required. Generally inclines over 20-degrees will require side rails and/or cleated belts in order to prevent material loss, although depending on the product cleats may be necessary at angles even lower.

There are a variety of other variables that will need to be considered when configuring your  incline conveyor, such as voltage, accessories, integration into existing systems, width, speed, and more.
