mk North America to Exhibit at Automate 2017

mk North America is proud to announce that we will be exhibiting at Automate 2017 from April 03 through April 06 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.

With well over 325 exhibitors and nearly 20,000 attendees expected, Automate is the largest solutions-based automation showcase in North America. Automate features the latest technologies from major robotics, vision, motion control and system integrator companies from around the world!

The Automate show is free for attendees and is also co-located with the ProMat show. 

mk will be featuring a variety of conveyors including our VersaMove over-under pallet-handling system as well as a variety of our aluminum conveyors solutions. mk will also be releasing a new conveyor product offering at Automate - stay tuned here for sneak-peeks.

mk North America Now a RIA Member

mk North America, Inc. is pleased announce that we are now a member of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA). The mission of RIA is:

The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) drives innovation, growth, and safety in manufacturing and service industries through education, promotion, and advancement of robotics, related automation technologies, and companies delivering integrated solutions.

RIA was founded in 1974 and is the only North American trade group organization specifically designed to serve the robotics industry. Members of RIA fit into several categories: robot manufacturers, users, system integrators, component suppliers, research groups, and consulting firms.

mk has become a member of RIA in the component supplier class. mk provides a number of different products in the robotics industry – to robotic suppliers, integrators and end-users. These products include mk VersaMove pallet-handling conveyors for a variety of material handling, assembly and testing purposes. mk’s belt conveyors and plastic modular conveyors are well suited for interfacing with robotic end of arm tooling for product placement and removal. CleanMove sanitary stainless steel conveyors are ideal for food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications.

Employee Spotlight: Celebrating 20 Years with Shawn Hall

Twenty years ago, when Shawn Hall was looking to relocate from Los Angles back to Massachusetts, mk North America was a small seven-person company operating out of a warehouse in Simsbury, Connecticut. Hall was looking for a company that would provide stability and the means to move back home. mk was looking for a talented, mechanically and electrically-inclined individual to work on assembling standard conveyors, their fastest growing product line at the time. Hall was introduced to the ownership and management from a friend who already worked at mk, and ever since Hall has been a dedicated employee.

Recently I had a chance to sit down and talk with Hall and mk’s management about Hall’s tenure with the company.

Maschinenbau Kitz GmbH Celebrates 50 Years!

mk North America is a member of the mk Technology Group; it's founding company, Maschinenbau Kitz GHmbH, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. We have this commemorative post from them to share. 

50 Years of Passion for Technology

The year 1966 witnessed it all: The Beatles coming together for the last time, the “Wembley goal” during the World Cup Final, and the premiere of Star Trek. And in Troisdorf (Germany), Hans-Josef Kitz was laying the foundation of his own mechanical engineering company.  “’Passion for technology’ had been his motive,” recalls his son Stephan Kitz, managing director of that company today: mk Technology Group. He went on to further describe his father as an “extremely creative and talented designer.” Products made in Germany are unsurpassed in their reputation for their high technical quality; Hans Kitz also shared this passion.
