According to the National Safety Council, almost 13,000 American workers are injured each day, resulting in as many in as many as 99,000,000 lost production days per year (no, that’s not a typo).
The most common causes of workplace injuries are overexertion, falls, and contact with objects and equipment, and three of the top five occupations with the greatest number of workplace injuries are shipping, manufacturing, and maintenance.

In the spirit of National Safety Month, here are some important safety tips for factories, shipping facilities, and other industrial workplaces.
When companies are small and just getting off the ground it is common for employees to become a “jack of all trades:” well-rounded and diverse in their skills and knowledge. When mk North America, Inc. was a fledgling company 20 years ago, it found such an employee in Bob Gardner. Gardner came to mk with a background in architecture but a desire to work with his hands as he had done previously in his father’s plumbing company and in construction.

Conveyor system manufacturer mk North America is announcing the introduction of two new modular plastic conveyor systems, the KFM-P 2040 incline conveyor and KMF-P 2040 curved conveyor, to their aluminum conveyor offerings, as well as the relaunch of the existing MBF-P 2040 system.

The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) drives innovation, growth, and safety in manufacturing and service industries through education, promotion, and advancement of robotics, related automation technologies, and companies delivering integrated solutions.
RIA was founded in 1974 and is the only North American trade group organization specifically designed to serve the robotics industry. Members of RIA fit into several categories: robot manufacturers, users, system integrators, component suppliers, research groups, and consulting firms.
mk has become a member of RIA in the component supplier class. mk provides a number of different products in the robotics industry – to robotic suppliers, integrators and end-users.
